Waikiki Sportfishing, led by skilled captains Nick and Chris Fidelibus, provides exciting deep-sea fishing charters off Oahu’s south shore in Hawaii. The business, fueled by the captains’ lifelong fishing enthusiasm, has been active for over ten years and sets sail from the nearby Kewalo Basin Harbor in Waikiki. Their boat, the Renegade, is a sturdy 38-foot Hatteras Sportfish that can host up to six anglers, suitable for beginners and experienced fishers alike.

The waters around Oahu’s south shore offer some of the best big game fishing for species such as nairagi (marlin), ahi (tuna), and ono (Wahoo). Waikiki Sportfishing offers various charter options, ranging from half-day to full-day trips, lasting 4 to 10 hours. You can choose between shared or private charters, depending on your needs and availability.

The charter is not only known for its big game fishing but also for its crew’s focus on safety and their expertise in ocean currents and marine life, which enriches the fishing experience. Waikiki Sportfishing aims to deliver enjoyable and lasting fishing experiences on Hawaiian waters, perfect for individuals, groups in shared charters, or private events. Well this was a bummer. We had a back up captain as well as a back up deck hand. Not sure if it's why none of us on this trip got a bite. But it was sorta weird to have folks taking us out that don't work on this boat. The deck hand smoked, so that was lame as well. Hard to say if they did everything right or everything wrong, or if we were just unlucky. I didn't see any other fishing boats anywhere near where we were at. No bites, 6 hours. On a positive note, Captain Steve was really nice, as was the deck hand. Hope your luck is better.
