This was a spontaneous trip. Was lost and looking for food. So happy I found this place. Upon walking in we were greeted. No idea what to get, a few suggestions were made and we were not disappointed. I thought I was getting a little bowl of gumbo... This bowl could have fed 2 people easy, without a doubt. Everyone was so friendly. i have to give a shout out to Michelle!!! Talk about southern hospitality! I love when a place makes you feel like part of the team/ family. This is going to be my new spot when visiting or before taking a cruise! I'll see y'all soon!

I gave three stars because the gumbo was very watery and tasteless. It had plain cold shrimps and crabs as toppings. I recommended my friends try that. They were disappointed. Miller’s restaurant”s gumbo was better. It was good, thick, right heat and flavourful gumbo. The soft shell crab sandwich was crunchy and good. The fries were okay.

Was able to stop and eat here after an excursion trip during a meeting in Houston. So glad I picked it out from Maps, it did not disappoint! We were on a time constraint also and without even prompting the staff, our food was out in no time, hot and delicious. There were only about 4 other tables so they weren't swamped but still had great service. The alligator and fried pickles were delicious, and the Bourbon Street Platter was a knockout - loved the crawfish etouffe and jambalaya!! 10/10 would stop here again if ever back in Galveston!
