Fish Finder Adventures in Ocean City, MD offers charter fishing and guide services, specializing in shark fishing and educating anglers about shark biology, conservation, and sustainable fishing practices. Fish Finder Adventures also runs nearshore and inshore light tackle and fly fishing trips. From February to April, they guide back-country flats fishing trips in the lower Florida Keys.
Fish Finder Adventures is owned and operated by Captain Mark Sampson, who has worked in the recreational fishing industry since he was a kid, starting as a dock boy and eventually managing an Ocean City marina. Since 1987, his full-time job has been as a charter boat captain and fishing guide. Captain Sampson is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed Master/Captain and Fishing Guide since 1986, founder of the Ocean City Shark Tournament, outdoor writer published in more than a dozen journals and magazines, author of “Modern Sharking” (2008), and a guide for 20 IGFA world records and numerous Maryland state records. He also participates in shark research through tagging and data collection, volunteers with the National Aquarium Marine Animal Rescue Program, advises the NMFS Highly Migratory Species Advisory Panel, and instructs at Three B’s Captain’s School.
Fish Finder Adventures offers several fishing trips. The Private Half Day Nearshore Shark Trip is a 5-hour trip available from June 1 to October 31, with morning or afternoon options. The Private Nearshore Shark Trip is an 8-hour trip offered during the same season. The Private Full Day Offshore Shark Trip, available from May 25 to June 15, is a 10-hour trip that takes anglers 20-40 miles offshore to encounter species such as Makos, Tigers, Threshers, Blues, Hammerheads, Sandbars, Duskies, and Spinners.
The Fish Finder is a 40’ sport fishing charter boat that provides a clean, safe, and comfortable ride for up to six anglers. Inside the cabin, the boat has an enclosed toilet, plenty of seating, and v-bunks. The deck features a large fishing cockpit and additional seating.
