Are you an angler that wants to try something different? At Big Ed’s Fishing, we offer three different types of fishing that will entertain novices, families, and more advanced anglers. You can try your luck on the ice, spending a day in a heated tent pulling in fish, learning how to fly fish, or going fishing on some of the most fertile, beautiful lakes in the country.

Big Ed wants to make sure everyone can go fishing. That is why he offers incredibly affordable prices that are perfect for families and large groups looking to spend a fun day on the lake.

Big Ed’s has the best guides in Colorado that know all of the waters in and around both Summit County and Steamboat Springs..

Big Ed has beautiful pontoon boats rigged for fishing the lakes of Colorado with Bimini tops, rod holders, downriggers, trolling setups, and casting setups.

Dillon is the home base for Big Ed’s, and the lakes and streams have Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Kokanee Salmon, Lake Trout and more. Trips range from 3 – 4 hours and accommodate up to 9 anglers. For trips longer than 4 hours, Big Ed recommends a trip to Antero Lake because you will be in a lake known for giants.

Antero Lake is located 45 miles south of Breckenridge. Antero Lake is known for its giant fish, and it is one of the premier trout lakes in the United States. Trophy Brown, Rainbow, Cutbow, Tiger Trout and Splake call this beautiful lake home. This trip is an angler’s dream and definitely should be on any angler’s bucket list for freshwater fishing. There are 4-hour and 6-hour charters with parties of up to 9.

Suppose you are further north in the Steamboat Springs area. In that case, Big Ed’s Fishing offers trips to Stagecoach State Park and the Stagecoach Reservoir. This area is known for monster, hard-hitting Rainbow Trout, Nothern Pike and Walleye. Big Ed provides 4 and 6-hour charters for up to 8 anglers.

Are you experienced at fly fishing or want to learn how to cast a fly for the first time? Big Ed offers guided half-day walk and wade trips where our experts and will teach those new to fly fishing all the basics and get you casting in no time.

Big Ed also offers ice fishing for you to try. You can go to Dillon, Antero Lake or Steamboat Springs. Big Ed has guides in all three places ready to teach you the ins and outs of this special type of fishing.

Big Ed’s Fishing has it all. No matter what type of fishing you want to do while in Colorado, Big Ed can cater a charter to your needs. First time ice fishing and it was a blast! It was very easy to book a tour, then reschedule it when we saw arctic weather in the forecast. We ended up with a beautiful afternoon and didn't even need the shelter. Dylan was a very personable and knowledgeable guide (I know, because I asked a million questions...) and we would be happy to fish with him again. We caught (and released) an unusual amount of arctic char which was quite exciting, a kissable sucker, and kept 6 rainbow trout! Dylan cleaned them for us and gave us the invaluable tip of how to pull out the spine and little bones after baking them.

Had an Amazing Experience with Cooper! We recently had the pleasure of going on an ice fishing adventure with Cooper, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! From the very beginning, Cooper demonstrated immense knowledge and passion for ice fishing, making our trip not only enjoyable but also very informative. Cooper's expertise in finding the perfect fishing spots was impressive. He was well-equipped, ensuring our safety and comfort throughout the day. His patience and enthusiasm, especially when teaching us the finer points of ice fishing, made the experience accessible and fun for everyone in our group. What truly set Cooper apart was his warm and friendly demeanor. He went above and beyond to make sure we all had a great time, sharing stories and ensuring that every aspect of our trip was taken care of. His professionalism and dedication to his craft are evident in every interaction. The experience was not just about fishing; it was about creating lasting memories in the beautiful winter setting. Thanks to Cooper, we caught a good number of fish, and more importantly, we gained a newfound appreciation for ice fishing. I highly recommend Cooper to anyone looking for a top-notch ice fishing guide. Whether you're a seasoned angler or trying ice fishing for the first time, Cooper's guidance will undoubtedly make your experience a memorable one. Thank you, Cooper, for such a fantastic day on the ice!

My family enjoyed the ice fishing. It was a fantastic experience. We got 12-13 fishes. Five keepers. Cooper is very nice and knowledgeable. His underwater camera added more fun to this fishing tour. We can watch fishes swimming and taking the bait under the ice. I also enjoyed the landscape and lake view. Sitting on the vast lake next to the majestic mountain itself is a great feeling. A unique experience and a beautiful memory!

Definitely a 5+ star experience! It was our first time ice fishing and we didn’t quite know what to expect but after researching the options, we are so thankful we picked Big Ed’s and we definitely lucked out with Cooper as our guide as well. Not only did he find us so many fish, he also literally fished out our phone that fell in one of the holes. His patience, knowledge and overall kindness truly made this the highlight of our week in Breck. Our two sons have already requested this to be part of our annual trip and we are happy to do so! We’ll be requesting Cooper every year, but honestly had the best experience with the whole company. Highly recommend for a unique and unforgettable family experience! Thanks again, Cooper and Big Ed’s! We will see you next year!
