Deale fishing

Deale Maryland is a small fishing village located on the western coast of the Chesapeake Bay. Because of its location just south of both Annapolis and Baltimore, it is located in the center of the Bay’s eastern shoreline. This makes it a jumping-off point to the northern, southern and central areas of the Chesapeake, and it has many Deale fishing charters to take you out on the water. There is some really great inshore fishing with many creeks like Rockhold, Tracy’s, Parker’s and Carr’s Creeks. And nearshore fishing is, of course, fishing in the Bay which is home to many different fish. For such a small town, there are several Marinas with plenty of Deale fishing charters ready to take you to explore the water looking for the big ones.

The main fish in the Bay is, without a doubt, Striped Bass or, as it is called here in Maryland, Rockfish. They are aggressive fish that put up a fight, getting them in the boat.

But they are also a delicious treat. You can find these fun fish just about everywhere, from the shallows to the deeper parts of the Bay. Some hotspots around Deale are Chesapeake Bay, Hog Point and the many creeks and tributaries that flow into the Bay from Deale.

Inshore, along with Rockfish, you may find yourself pulling in Red Drum, Black Drum, Bluefish and Flounder. Or you can have your Deale fishing charter take you out further into the lake, looking for bigger fish. Here trolling is the fishing technique of choice, looking for Rockfish along with Cobia, Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish. The Chesapeake has many regulations, and Rockfish and other fish have in-seasons where they can be harvested and off-seasons where they can be catch and release. No matter when you come to Deale, the fish are always running.

Even if you can’t take home a Rockfish, plenty of tasty fish like Flounder, Red Drum and more are available year-round.
