His interest in Alaska began in high school with a fascination for log cabins, which grew during a summer visit to the state in 1986. After earning a degree in fisheries biology and later becoming a doctor, he moved to the Kenai Peninsula, where he worked as an ER physician while expanding the lodge. Over 25 years, he developed the property into a four-acre complex with modern facilities. Today, he continues to share his passion for Alaska through the lodge while practicing medicine locally.
