Crescent City Fishing

Crescent City, California, offers excellent fishing opportunities. Captain Steve can take you jigging with light tackle for a variety of Rockfish species, including Black, Blues, Deacon, Canary, China, and Vermilions. You can also target Lingcod, Halibut, and Albacore Tuna. The fishing season for Rockfish, Lingcod, Cabezon, and Halibut doesn’t start until May in California. Albacore Tuna, on the other hand, are available throughout the year, with the best time to target them being late summer and early fall. Unfortunately, as of now, the California King and Coho Salmon season has been canceled.

In Brookings, Oregon, the fishing regulations are more relaxed. There are no regulations for Rockfish, Lingcod, or Cabezon, which are available year-round. Halibut is in season from May to September, and King Salmon is available for a short time from March to May. There is great Albacore Tuna fishing in Oregon from June to September. The open season for crab fishing in California runs from November to July. In Oregon, it generally runs from December to August. During this period, Captain Steve drops a few crab pots on your way out to the fishing grounds, hoping to catch some fresh crabs on your way back to the docks.
