Maryland fishing

This may be a secret to you, but for anglers that know Maryland has some excellent fishing.
Whether it is on the Bay or off the coast, there are tons of fish just waiting for your hook, and the best way to get you reeling them in is to go on one of the many Maryland fishing charters. They will take you to where the fish are and ensure you have a great day on the water.
The Chesapeake Bay is 64,000 square miles and one of the world’s most fertile estuaries. The main catch here is Striped Bass, or as it is known here, Rockfish. It is the state fish, and it is found all over the Bay. These fish are very aggressive and fun to catch.
Along with Rockfish, the Bay has many more fish that anglers want to bring home for dinner. Redfish, Flounder, Black Drum, Croaker, Bluefish, Trout and more make the Bay home. Fishing Charters know the hidden spots to put you on the fish here in the expansive Bay.
Off the coast is amazing nearshore fishing. An artificial reef system off the coast hosts fish like Tautog, Black Sea Bass, Spadefish, Flounder, Triggerfish and more.
Offshore the fishing is excellent. Ocean City, Maryland, is known as the “White Marlin Capital of the World” and is home to the largest White Marlin tournament in the world, The White Marlin Open. Some other hard-hitting trophy fish up and down the coast, along with White Marlin, are Blue Marlin, Wahoo, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Amberjack and Tuna.
You can fish the Bay on a half-day charter, but to get out where the big monsters live, you will need to spend a whole day on the water.
Fishing year-round is possible, but the majority of Maryland fishing charters start the season in April and end the year in mid-December.
