Inshore species include roosterfish, Pacific snook, snapper, jack Crevalle, and Spanish mackerel.
Quepos is a tropical rainforest with year round warm weather and frequent rains from May to November. High temperatures average in the mid to high 80’s year round, with December through April being the driest months with very little rainfall. Whatever the weather, the fish love Quepos year round! Sailfish and dorado are regularly caught year round with the best months being November through April. Black marlin and striped marlin are most common in October through January and again in May and June. Blue marlin fishing is slow December through March, but the action is great March through November. Yellowfin tuna is caught year round but the fishing slows October through December. Wahoo can be caught in May, June, and July. Inshore fishing for jack Crevalle, snapper, roosterfish, Pacific snook, and Spanish mackerel is fantastic year round. Quepos has the largest fleet of charter fishing boats in Costa Rica so there are a wide variety of choices available for every angler.
