Mile High Fishing Charters is a professional, full-time Lake Tahoe fishing charter located at the Tahoe Keys Marina & Yacht Club in South Lake Tahoe, CA. Captain Joby has fished Lake Tahoe his entire life and knows all of the hiding spots where the fish are. He is USCG licensed and has been a top-ranking charter service for over 20 years.
Captain Justin also grew up in Lake Tahoe, has fished here most of his life, and knows many tips and tricks that make his charters so popular. Captain Joby and Captain Jason know the waters and the depths of the Lake like the back of their hands, and they know where the fish will be and the best place to drop a hook in the water on any given day. He fishes exclusively by jigging because it is so much more personal and exciting, hooking that fish and fighting it right up to the boat.
Their boat, the Sunny B, is a 25 ft. boat that has been one of the best boats on the Lake for years. It has twin Mercury 115’s and plenty of room, so you do not get tangled lines. Lake Tahoe is famous for its fishing. Anglers come from all over to try their luck catching a “Laker” (large-sized Lake Trout), Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout and Kokanee Salmon. And Captains Joby and Justin can put you on the fish all day long.
Whatever fish you want to catch, they know techniques to reel them in. Captain Joby does not like trolling because jigging is so much more personal and exciting, hooking that fish and fighting it right up to the boat.
Rods, reels, tackle, bait, water, and sodas are included. Layered clothing is recommended, especially if doing a morning or winter charter, sunscreen, a hat, polarized sunglasses, and a good camera for the beauty of the Lake.You also need a fishing license, but they will help you with this.
Lake Tahoe is a beautiful town, and while fishing with Mile High Charters, you can take in all of the beauty while reeling in fish after fish. A day on Lake Tahoe is really a fantastic way to pass the time.

9 months agoWhat a great experience! Captain Joby did not disappoint! We didn’t have to get up and be on the water before sunrise, like other captains told us we needed to do. We were on the water at 7am and basically had a few Mackinaw within minutes of the first pole in the water! The water was calm, weather was perfect and not a better view and NO ONE PLAYS BETTER MUSIC!! Captain Joby told us how to catch ‘em and we listened. We will DEFINITELY book with him the next time we visit Tahoe! Thank you so much Captain Joby!!

9 months agoBy far the best Charter company in Tahoe! Joby was incredible getting me on a boat last minute! He went above and beyond. The trip itself was unbelievable! Beautiful waters, a very nice boat, and a captain and deck hand that were second to none. I’ve been on MANY charters. The captain was knowledgeable, personable, and helpful with any questions I asked about the area. They even suggested a few great places to shore fish. We did all types of fishing in just a half day trip! Trolling, jigging, live baits, and plastics! Overall the best experience I’ve had on a fishing trip in my life! Thanks guys.

8 months agoJoby was an amazing captain. We got out early and caught a bunch of Silver Salmon and a great mackinaw trout. Very hard working and gave us the best experience! Had the fish cooked at MacDuffs. An amazing day!

8 months agoJoby and the gang at Mile High were awesome! We were the only boat catching limits of Kokanee in Lake Tahoe when Dirks Bentley and his crew wake surfed right past us!!! Everyone knows Joby in South Lake and he knows this lake like a true Pro! So fun!!! Thank you!!!

6 months agoWe had an amazing time 10/18/23 with Carsar as our captain. He was very through and taught us some new methods of fishing. We caught 6 and our boatmates from Englamd the same. Highly recommend him as a captain. Also Chris in the office was super nice.
