Mile High Fishing Charters

Lake Tahoe, America’s largest alpine lake, has some of the best freshwater sport fishing in the world. Anglers from all over diverge to these waters to catch Rainbow, Brown and Mackinaw (Lake) trouts as well as the small but tasty Kokanee Salmon.

Lake Tahoe is teeming with fish, but it is not easy to find or get to them. Mile High Fishing Charter is the premier fishing charter for any fishing trip to this beautiful lake. Captain Joby Cefalu and his wife Laura have owned and operated this top-ranking charter service for over 20 years. Captains Joby and Justin, both Master Guides in California and Nevada and USCG licensed, are locals that have been fishing these waters all their lives. They have a commitment to their guests to provide the finest Tahoe fishing trip possible, and while other charter companies advertise catching multiple types of fish at Mile High, they do!! They know these waters, and they know where the fish are.

The Mile High Fishing fleet consists of two beautiful Kingfisher sport fishing boats. The original, “The Sunny B,” is a 25′ boat powered by twin Mercury 115’s. It has been in service since 2014, but it is as good as new and better than many of the other boats on the lake, thanks to TLC and regular maintenance. The more recent addition is the 30′ Kingfisher. It has two Mercury 150 outboard motors and a 15 hp Mercury kicker motor. This boat is big and was built to fish. It has a 12′ fishing deck which gives plenty of room to fish in comfort. Both of these boats have been built with the comfort of the guests in mind.

There are a few different charter options available for you. There are half-day morning and afternoon charters as well as a full-day charter. There are also shared public charters for those on budgets or smaller groups and private charters. There are also multi-day charters, and Mile High Fishing can customize any of your trips to meet your demands. Our charters are perfect for experienced anglers, family outings or even corporate events.

Whichever trip you decide, all you need to do is bring yourself, some warm clothes (it gets cold in Lake Tahoe), a valid California or Nevada fishing license which we will be happy to help you acquire and some food or drinks. Refreshments are provided, but you are more than welcome to bring your own if you wish. Along with refreshments, all of your fishing gear, custom rods, and top-of-the-line industry-leading fishing tackle and gear from Daiwa, Abu Garcia, and others are provided. All of the gear is regularly maintained and replaced because nothing will ruin your fishing experience more than losing the trophy fish of your dreams to faulty equipment. The only other thing recommended is a camera for taking in the beauty of Lake Tahoe and taking pictures of all the fun you had during your trip on the lake.

Lake Tahoe has some fun fish, and Mile High Fishing is where to go for all the action. Captains Joby and Justin can’t wait to take you to all of their special places. There is nothing like the feeling when you hook a fish, and it leaps out of the water, fighting you all the way into the boat.
