Gulfstream Charters is a family-run business and one of the largest and longest-running charter companies on Florida’s west coast. Captain Maxie is a seasoned skipper and highly respected in Clearwater. He has been a fishing boat captain since 1954, and after twenty years of working for others, he decided to captain his own ship. Now he has a fleet of fourof the best in Clearwater built to take you for a great day on the water. They have many different charters to meet any angler’s needs no matter what they want to hook on to.
The original Gulfstream is a 40′ custom yacht with enough room to accommodate more than six people and up to 10 ready anglers. It has been one of the best fishing vessels in Clearwater since 1977. The Gulfstream II is the Gold Standard of the Clearwater charter fishing fleet. It is a 51′ custom-built sport fishing boat that accommodates large parties, families, corporate charters and bachelor/bachelorette parties. There are two other boats, the Ragin Cajun and the Wizard. All these vessels are custom-built boats specially for charter fishing, safety and comfort with the latest fish finding and navigation.
The inshore waters of Clearwater are filled with Snook, Redfish, Tarpon, and Spotted Seatrout. Cobia, Mackerel, Seabass, Snapper and Grouper are all found nearshore and offshore you can troll for Tuna, Mahi Mahi and Sailfish or bottom fish for large sized Grouper, Hogfish, Red Snapper and Amberjacks. Captain Maxie will know which techniques you need to use depending on what type of fish you want to target.
Gulfstream Charters are very flexible with your schedule offering 4,5,6,8,10, and 12-hour trips, specialty offshore bill fishing and multi-day charters. You will have the time of your life on board and come home with a cooler full of fish.
Bring plenty of food and drinks, sunglasses, hats, towels, sunscreen, a camera to capture those great fishing moments, soft-soled or boat shoes (This is for your safety as much as to protect the boat) and a cooler to take your fish home. We will provide the ice, rods, reels and bait.

a week agoCaptain Brad, 1st mate Kyle, the condition of the boat, and the fishing provided our NGMA group of 18 guests was excellent. They had an ice chest full of ice for our beverages. The boat provided everyrhing required to fish for our large group and they put us on reef fish and larger species while trolling. We caught a dozen various mackerel and several dozen grunts. Thank You for a fun trip. Exceeded expectations!

2 weeks agoWe had a great time on the Gulf Stream II with Kyle and Captain Brad.l! And liked supporting a family business that was over 50 years old. Kyle and Brad were both great! They baited every line for us, took the fish off, filleted the fish at the end and we took it to Crabby’s Dockside and our group ate it for dinner with coleslaw and fries! Best food we had in Clearwater. We brought home 58 fish and probably threw 40+ back. We had 12 of us on the boat and 11 of us fished. Highly recommend having another person to take photos.We had a cloudy day with lots of rolling waves but Dramamine taken before (take night before and morning of fishing) helped. It was a great leg work out dealing with the rocking of the boat LOLCheaper if you pay cash.

a month agoWe had a GREAT time fishing with Captain Roo and Jake. Our group of 10 hit the ocean on the Gulfstream at 7am. We got to watch the beautiful sunrise and tried a little trolling. After about 5 minutes of the fish not hitting on trolling we moved on to some bottom fishing. Didn't even have our line in a minute when the fish started biting! We had so much fun and everyone caught their share of fish. We probably caught twice as many as in the picture but you can only eat so much so we started throwing them back. We will definitely head out with them next time we're in town.

8 months agoJust WOW. We kickstarted our vacation on a fishing charter with Captain Brad and Kyle. Both were professional, accommodating, and friendly. Our trip resulted in 20 Spanish mackerel! I highly recommend booking Gulfstream II. I also recommend taking some freshly caught fish to Salt Cracker for fish tacos (thanks, Kyle, for suggesting this!).
