Want to go fishing in San Diego? May I suggest that you call a taxi? Fish Taxi Sportfishing Charter, that is! Just like any taxi, this Taxi takes every angler where they want to go, to the fish. Captain Don Nelson and his knowledgeable crew can and will put you on the fish. They service Oceanside Harbor, San Diego and all of Southern California.
Captain Don has been fishing for over 50 years, and he takes that lifetime of experience and knowledge and is happy to share it with all of his guests. His goal is to catch a lot of fish and have fun doing it.
The Fish Taxi is a custom 34 ft. Radovich Sportfisher. The Fish Taxi is fast with twin 380 Cummins engines that will get you out to the fishing grounds quickly and have you dropping your line in no time. Captain Don can find the fish because the Fish Taxi has the latest in fish-finding and navigational equipment. With room for up to 6 anglers, it is an excellent boat for families or for a bunch of friends out for a good time on the water.
On your day with Fish Taxi, you may encounter several different fish depending on whether you are staying inshore or heading out to sea. Inshore, the fish you might find are halibut, calico bass and corvina (also known as white sea bass), rockfish, sheepshead, small sharks and more. Heading offshore, you can target some of the fish you might have on your bucket lists, like Mahi Mahi (Dorado), Yellowfin Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Big-eye Tuna, ling cod, barracuda and large sharks.
Fish Taxi has a 4-hour Fun Trip catered towards kids, a 6-hour coastal charter for nearshore fishing along the coast, an 8-hour offshore deep sea charter, and an 11-hour offshore charter that goes further than the 8-hour, usually attracting even bigger fish. In Southern California, many anglers want to spend multiple days on the water heading down to Baja or the islands off the southern coast. Fix Taxi can arrange these trips. Captain Don tries to personalize each charter to meet his guests' needs.
Fish Taxi has some of the best professional rods and reels from Penn and Shimano and the best tackle. They use live bait and also have many jigs. Refreshments are provided. All you need to bring is a smile on your face,
a valid fishing license for anyone 16 or older, safe non-skid shoes, sunscreen, polarized sunglasses, a hat, a camera and because it can get windy at times, a light jacket.
Come take a ride on the Fish Taxi with your driver Captain Don where your destination will be “Fish On!!” all day long.
