Business Spotlight: Taco Hooked Up

Taco Hooked Up, a leading Ft. Lauderdale fishing charter has been owned and operated by the namesake, Captain Taco, for over 30 years and has extensive training under six amazing captains that took him all over the Caribbean in pursuit of sport game fish. He is a jovial character that likes to make sure his guests hook up with fish but also have a fun time. He tells jokes and stories about his time on the water, and everyone who goes on a charter with Captain Taco returns and raves about the fun and fish they caught.

Captain Taco, When did you start fishing?
I started fishing at an early age. In fact, I cannot think of a time that I did not have a fishing pole in my hand.
When did you open your business?
I started the business in 1988. I had lots of experience on great boats and decided in 1988 that it was time for me to be on my own.
What are your hours of operation?
If anglers are morning people and want to get a jump on things, we will leave the dock between 7 ā€“ 8 am. For those that want to sleep in our afternoon charters, leave the docks between noon and 1 pm. We operate 7 days a week.
Tell us about your business, including the types of services you offer.

Our charters are full-service charters with everything, including your license and a large cooler for your beer or other beverages. We use only top-of-the-line reels, and every rod has been personally customized by me. All you need to do is bring yourself and get ready for a fun day as well as a funny day, as I like to crack jokes and tell stories of my exploits on the high seas.

We offer 4,6, and 8-hour charters. Trolling can target many fish, including Mahi Mahi, Kingfish and Tuna. Deep Dropping for Snapper and Tilefish is both fun and some of the best-tasting fish in the ocean. During these deep drops, you can also hook up with Grouper, Amberjacks, and Cobia.

Also, There are also Three specialty trips. Because S. Florida is synonymous with Sailfish he takes you out to the reefs or to the Gulf Stream for hot action fishing for the fastest fish in the water. Swordfishing and Shark fishing. For Swordfishing, you can go in the daytime or at night. They both can reap great rewards, and landing one of these beasts is something that every angler should at least try to do. Shark fishing in S. Florida is fun and another must for anglers to do. Hammerheads, Threshers and Mako Sharks are what we target.
We can work with you and find your fish no matter what you want to reel in. Just let us know.
