Rainbow and brown trout trips focus on hard-fighting fish in shallower waters, with prime seasons in spring and fall. These fish typically weigh 3 to 4 pounds, with larger catches possible. Kokanee salmon fishing is best from July to October when they are most active, averaging 12 to 15 inches long and known for their excellent taste. Cutthroat trout fishing provides a unique chance to catch a native species that was reintroduced to Lake Tahoe, with fish reaching up to 3 pounds.
The fishing is done from a 26-foot River Wild boat designed for comfort and stability.
