Harvest Moon Fishing Charters offers inshore fishing trips from Myrtle Beach to Georgetown, providing a great time on the water for experts and beginners alike. Whether you’re looking for a fun family-friendly trip or a chance to reel in some serious fish, Captain R.C. Ferdon knows where to go. The waters along the Grand Strand are home to redfish, trout, tarpon, and many other species, making every trip exciting.

Captain R.C. Ferdon was born and raised fishing the waters of Pawleys Island and Georgetown. His passion started early, fishing with his Granny Eunice Price before he could even talk. Summers were spent working on charter boats, and after graduating from the College of Charleston in 2001, he made a name for himself in the fishing world. He invented the “Lowcountry Lightning” rattling float, a product that changed the way anglers adjust to tidal conditions, and later sold it to Bett’s Tackle Company. This earned him the nickname “Cork” among local guides. Ferdon became a licensed captain at 23, operating vessels for the Georgetown Harbor Pilots and later co-owning Sea Tow Georgetown. Over 12 years, he helped thousands of boaters before successfully selling the business. After a successful career growing sales for Garmin Marine, he returned to his first love—fishing the waters of Georgetown, SC. Now, he’s ready to take you on a trip through Winyah Bay, offering safe, family-friendly fishing on some of the most productive waters in South Carolina.

Harvest Moon Fishing Charters offers inshore trips ranging from four to eight hours. Winyah Bay and the surrounding estuaries, including North Inlet, the Santee Delta, and McClellanville, provide miles of open water without the crowds. Redfish, trout, and flounder can be caught nearly year-round, and Captain R.C. knows where to find them. The short drive from Myrtle Beach makes it easy to fish in the morning and still make a tee time in the afternoon. These trips are kid-friendly, and every effort is made to keep younger anglers entertained while making sure everyone on board has a great time.

For those looking to fish beyond the inshore waters, nearshore trips are also available in five, six, and eight-hour options. There’s no need for a long ride to deep water when monster fish are within minutes of land. Wrecks and reefs off the coast of Georgetown are home to kingfish, cobia, sharks, and more. These trips are all about keeping the rods bent without spending hours getting to the fishing grounds.

Tarpon fishing is a special opportunity for those looking to chase one of the most sought-after gamefish in the world. The silver king can be tough to catch, but Captain R.C. puts in the work to know when and where they’ll be. South Carolina tarpon fishing is something that has to be seen to be believed, with fish ranging from 50 to 150 pounds migrating through the area between June and October. Timing is everything, and if you want the best shot at hooking one of these giants, this is the trip for you.
